Sexual Puns: supsupsupsup!!!!!

OK, when I first started reading this play, I was real confused bcuz I was informed that there would be some sexual jokes in here but I didnt when they would come. SO I think I kinda overlooked some of them at the beginning but as time went on, I started to catch on and they were really funny. For example, when Kinesias comes to the Acropolis gates to see Myrrhine, he talks to Lysistrata and she tells him that " I swear you're never out of Myrrhine's mouth". And then, Lysistrata asks him what does she get out of letting him see Myrrhine and Kinesias tells her that she can "See his situation"....idk have u guys noticed any other ones? supsupsup?

OMG! That scene with Kinesias and Myrrhine was too funny! I know
Ms. D was tellin us to expect alot of sexual puns but I was not expectin these! I felt kinda bad though for Kinesias bcuz he really got played by Myrrhine. On the other hand, I was proud of Myrrhine bcuz she was one of few women who was actually serious and committed to the oath of abstinence. I know it had to be hard (no pun intended) for both Kinesias and Myrrhine bcuz they were face to face with each other and there was no one there to stop them from doin whatever they wanted to. I thnk Myrrhine did a great job of keepin the oath of sexual purity....idk what do you think? supsupsup!

Would this work?

When I first started reading Lysistrata, I wasn't sure if this plan would really work . i wasnt sure if it would work bcuz there were alot of women who tried to "escape" the oath they made. There seemed to be a lack of committment among the group of women. For one, they all showed up late to the meeting, and that shows that they didnt have much interest in helping out. Also, the minute Lysistrata and Kleonike said the idea, aot of them were ready to leave. This also shows me why I think this plan would have a hard time succeeding in real life. There wouldnt be much dedication or committment to the cause....idk what do u think? supsupsup!!!!!

Operation Lysistrata!

Wow, when I think about the plan Lysistrata came up with to end the war, I thought it was very interesting. But then I thnk, would that ever work in our time? I think theres a possibility that it could and its a possiblity that it wont work. I think it could work in our case since we hav the war in the Middle East but th eone thing that wouldn haveto change would be that everyone in the US would have to participate. In the play, Lysistrata only had women whose husbands were fighting participate but I think that if all women (and men) across America participated, itwould be very effective. But then again, it would be kind of hard bcuz everyone has their own views on abstinence and when enough is enough....idk what do u think? do u think this woudl work n real life (2day) ?

Language! pt 2

Im kind of sad bcz I just found out that we cant do the presentation idea we wanted to...but its alrght cuz we found another one! Alot things dealing with language in Lysistrata are ways of using characterization. I think it would be an interesting idea if we could compare the Characters names to how they are as people. For example, Kineas is like the word
Kinesiology, which is the study of movement. the connection we could make is with his uncontrollable movement bcuz when he was calling for his wife,hecouldnt stand still...idk what do u think? supsupsup!

Language!

I just found out that I'll be doing language for my oral presentation. I'm kinda confused bcuz I've done a presentation just language but when I think about it, theres alot u can do with it. One way language can be used is through characterization. For example, the Spartans are the only group of people in Lysistrata who have a distinct type of speech or accent. Its almost like their southern, country folks or somethin. This reveals that there might have been some type of social class within Greek society...idk supsupsup?

Lysistrata

I think the beginning of Lysistrata was kind of confusin. It was confusin 4 me bcuz of the language. I know Ms. D was tellin us to expect puns and sexual inuendo but I wasn't sure if what they were sayin was a play on word or just the literal meaning. For example, on p. 18 Lysistrata went from talking about how lazy the Spartans were to how scrumptious their eels were. idk..supsupsup?
